Macar Fiği

A winter-hardy, drought-tolerant annual vetch species — the legume forage crop that withstands winter best under Eastern and Central Anatolian conditions. It is recommended especially for dry marginal land. Since Hungarian vetch develops rather poorly in Turkey's coastal regions, common vetch or hairy vetch should be preferred there instead. In regions with harsh winters it should be sown as early as possible in September so the plant enters winter already green.
